It may have been noticed that we haven’t done all that much blogging recently. Between 2 jobs, 2 dogs, a horse and a household (and thats just me!) I could say I haven’t found the time, but all of my spare computer time has been spent on research for our latest adventure… an Around the World trip!
We’ve arranged for our flatmates to look after the dogs (or more likely, the dogs will look after them), locked up the wine fridge, booked 3 months off work, and are starting to pack our bags for a trip of a lifetime. The holiday is based mostly on wine and food regions, and we’ve managed to secure a couple of bookings at some of the top restaurants in the world.
A quick overview on where we’re off to:
Egypt – Quick stop to see one of the great wonders of the world
France – Paris, Loire Valley, Bordeaux, Côtes du Rhône, Burgundy, Champagne… all the big wine regions!
Germany – Oktoberfest… the whole trip may or may not be based around being in Europe for this.
Italy – Florence, Venice & Rome… Pizza, Pasta & Gelato!
Spain – San Sebastian is known as one of the greatest foodie areas in the world, with the second highest concentration of Michelin stars. We’re also booked into the current Worlds 2nd best restaurant, El Celler de can Roca
London – Time to immerse ourselves in culture
Canada – We’re stopping in Ontario, to see Toronto, Niagara Falls, and to check out Ice wine from the region Niagara-on-the-Lake
USA – So many stops, including NYC, LA, Vegas, San Fran, Napa Valley & Alaska!
Mexico – Street food, Tequila, and a mini break in Playa del Carmen
Chile – More wine, and the chance to take the bus over the border to our next stop…
Argentina – First stop Mendoza, becoming popular for Melbec, before heading to Buenos Aires
New Zealand – Catch up with family and friends, take a breather, and recover before coming back to reality!
As you can imagine, we’ll be taking plenty of photos, sharing out experiences on social media, and blogging about them. We welcome all suggestions of places to see, eat and drink on our travels, and would love to hear of other’s experiences. Make sure you’re following us on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter to see where we’re at, what we’re doing, & what we’re eating and drinking!
